Nappy Ass Weave.
Well. I think I've given up on the dream of growing my hair long and then dyeing it pretty colors. The first part, at least.
I managed to forget that my hair grows wide, not long. It looks disastrous, and I'm kinda getting tired of pigtails. I wore it "down" today and I am just completely mortified.

Something new? Or just the usual?

Stupid curly jerk hair.

It was suggested that I get it relaxed, but I'm afraid to.

In high school study hall, I used to sit behind this girl who would get her hair relaxed (with poor results). In addition to still-curly hair (at best, it looked like it was crimped), her neck was always covered with scabs and gross stuff like that. She said it was from getting her hair relaxed.

dear god yes. i am also a wide haired person, but i thought that if i just accept to look bad for a few months while it grows past that then after it gets to a certain length it will either look like i went for the big hair thing, or it will weigh itself downward.
so far my hair is less than an inch above my shoulders and people are complimenting me on having such big wild hair. so as long as it looks purposeful, then its all good.
its just those couple bad looking months you have to worry about. i relied on ponytails and pigtails (and ducktails, if only i could have spent those months watching that show)

Well, my hair... the haircut was a reverse mullet sort of thing. The hair in back is just covering my neck now, and the hair in front is fairly long, 3 inches past my shoulder when wet.

I should get some Frizz-Ease and try to work with it... Or cut it all off, heh.
Or get it thinned out... SOMETHING. It's curly AND thick and so hard to handle, even after 23 years of dealing with it.
